Myriam and François share their story with us … “Our most beautiful memories are certainly the simplest.” “We love the extra in the ordinary”. I do not know where I once read this sentence, but it looks like us. When we are with the right person, every moment, every share is sublimated, but if I were to be in a city only one of them, it would be this morning of September, perched on a bench of the refuge of the hut of Moiry in the Valais in Switzerland. Hand in hand, in silence to observe the immensity of this glacier just under our feet, generating a lake with moiré colors ranging from ocher to emerald green turning to turquoise. The time who stops, a shared happiness, just us, the wind and the glacier.
Nature, simplicity, creativity. This is what unites us. And it is natural that our wedding was organized around these values. We wanted to share this beautiful feeling of nature with our loved ones, which is what was most important to us. “
“François made his proposal in the Gresson farm inn (Vosges in the valley of Massevaux). The idea of getting married in this place full of meaning for us was very spontaneous, and Anne the main actress of this farm inn with his mum Geneviève and her sister Bénédicte were kind enough to welcome us to their home to celebrate this special moment. It is here that we come to recharge our batteries as soon as we feel the need. It is there we spent our very first night in the mountains, and we found out what appeasement it caused .. Since then, we do not count the many escapades in the Vosges … The realization of these delicious dishes is orchestrated by Bénédicte. Vegetables with meat come from their garden or neighboring farms. Each product is cooked with finesse but in all simplicity. Accurate reflection of the hosts of the house, warm and sincere. This beautiful family has placed their trust in us and we thank them again today. We had carte blanche for decoration.
This farmhouse inn also has the advantage of not being accessible by car. A walk of one hour is the obligatory passage to deserve ones meal! Our wish being to share our love of the mountain, to be able make a walk all together fell within the meaning. An aperitif was possible half way. Outdoors. This is one of the most beautiful moments I find!
A good part of the party taking place in the forest, weather was one of the most important elements. And paradoxically it is surely the only reality impossible to master. And if we have been under a lot of stress in recent days, I can say today that the vagaries of time bring this little something else to the party.
Of course, in our opinion, the most important thing was to surround ourselves that day with true and whole people and that we appreciate. Without all these beautiful people the party would be nothing. The essential is there. “
“We decided to finance our wedding alone, especially in order to preserve our identity, a simple, no-frills wedding, respecting a low budget. We organized everything by ourselves. We were a little under forty.
My two dresses, costed less than 500 euros together. And François’s clothes, between sales and good finds, costed about the same price.
François realized announcements by himself, with a very personal message. The second part is illustrated with a photograph taken by my grandfather in the 60s, representing an extension of the Vosges. Wooden signage, candle holders, garlands of fabric and pompoms were handmade by François, myself, my mother, Laetitia and the mother of a friend. Most of the decorations come from flea markets, our personal belongings and from Hema.
For the decoration of the tables, we wanted to highlight the raw and rustic look of the beautiful wooden tables of the farm inn. All towels are linen and were found last summer. The soup plates also come from the flea market. “
“But the central element of the decoration are the flowers. They are the link between all the elements of the place.The budget flowers were the most important in terms of decoration. A simple bouquet on a table and here is a room magnified in a few second. It’s often just a few things – flowers are that spontaneous, fresh thing that makes anyone, anything, pretty. So Martha Schittly, my darling talented florist, has put them wherever she can. On the tables, the beams, the walls, the doors, in the rooms and on our heads, since I asked her to make dried flowers crowns for each of the guests.The dried flowers have the advantage of holding all along of the party and be carried away as a souvenir.
To this were added the nice surprises of our friends. LOVE letters of very large size to carry along the way to the farm inn. Unique handmade parasols, a polaroid, a book, and ephemeral tattoos cut in half. Guests had to to find the other half on one of the other guests. And pretty fans homemade by our friends Bilitis and Laetitia. My mother lovingly made small organic jams offered to guests. I simply decorated these pots with a piece of pretty fabric and a hemp link.
We also offered local organic cold saponified soaps. They are great, smell good and do not cost a lot. I replaced the original packaging with a black and white cotton tie and a card with the logo of our wedding (made by François). “
“I chose two dresses, the first one was bought on Asos * at 180 euros, it served me for our civil union at the town hall, the first aperitif in our garden and for the one-hour hike. The second was bought from Maje (250 euros), I wore it for the second part of the party. I do not like symmetry, so I chose two earrings different from the summer collection of Zara.for the shoes, I opted for Minelli lace espadrilles for the ride. For the town hall and the evening I wore sandals from Sézane.
We do not like superfluity or waste. We wanted to be able to wear our shoes and clothes again everyday. “
oWe are very sensitive to music. We made three playlists by downloading the music via a subscription of 10 euros per month on Itunes. Can be canceled at any time. Each playlist had an autonomy of 10 hours …
As we had a very tight budget we did not think of hired photographers. Laetitia a friend very close, convinced us otherwise. And she was right, our marriage went so fast. The only traces remaining for life are these immortality moments through the camera.
And it is through La mariée aux pieds nus that I discovered Capyture. We were immediately seduced by their approach. A real crush. It coincided perfectly with the atmosphere of our wedding. And it is a very beautiful couple with sure taste that we’ve met. They are both very professional and very human. Discreet but here when it is necessary, and were able to retranscribe the atmosphere of the marriage. We are very happy to have met them. We feel close to their values and their tastes, a beginning of friendship is born I think.
